Chanel is a RYT-200 certified instructor who started her yoga journey when she injured her knee and her physical therapist suggested yoga as a form of healing. At first she thought yoga was going to just be “stretching” but quickly learned it brought far more benefits both emotionally and physically. Chanel teaches a vinyasa (flow) style class that encourages her students to try new things in a non-judgemental environment.

More about Chanel Sledge

I was not always a lover of yoga. It all came about through a knee injury after years of running track and gymnastics. I was diagnosed with chondromalacia patella and was told that I would never be able to run again. It was my physical therapist’s suggestion that I try yoga while healing me knee. I always thought yoga was just stretching…boy was I wrong. All it took for me was one video and I haven’t looked back since. Yoga has changed my life in more ways than one. Yoga brought about a balance I was lacking in my life. After a year of self-practice, I decided to finally go to a yoga class which helped take my practice to the next level. It was at that very studio that I decided I wanted to bring yoga to people who would otherwise never experience it. Less than a year later I received my RYT-200 certification at 229 Yoga in Albany, GA. I began teaching a fun vinyassa (flow) style class . When you come to my classes expect to have fun, try new things, see things from a different perspective while in a totally non-judgmental environment. Building strength and flexibility while connecting the mind, body, and breath. Chanel is a contributing teacher for the 100/200-hour Empowered Deeper Studies Programs.
